This drive from Anchorage to the seaside community of Seward starts with a 2 hour journey through spectacular scenery as you pass between the dramatic shorelines of Turnagain Arm and the jutting peaks of the Chugach Mountains. As you continue, you’ll pass through the Kenai Peninsula which is famous for its array of outdoor activities.

You’ll enjoy the Kenai Fjords Cruise with a buffet lunch from 11:30AM to 5:30PM from Seward. Afterwards, you’ll travel back to Anchorage.

Today, you’ll board the Alaska railroad panoramic car that will take you to Denali. Lunch will be included.

The Alaska railroad’s premium class of service offers passengers an exceptional way to travel across Alaska. Glass dome ceilings allow for panoramic views as Alaska glides past the window outside. The upper viewing platform offers excellent photographic opportunities.

On your 2nd day, you’ll embark on your excursion into Denali Park (with lunch). Travelling 62 miles into Denali National Park to Stony Hill Overlook, and some of the best wildlife spotting opportunities on the Tundra Wilderness Tour. Although sightings are never guaranteed, you’ll be looking for Dall sheep, moose, caribou, wolves and Grizzly bears. There’s an amazing view from the Stony Hill Overlook, from the base to the summit of Denali. After this amazing tour, you’ll head back to your hotel.

The next day you’ll have the whole day at leisure - full board.

Imagine yourself at the centre of America’s largest national park, overlooking 25 miles of glacier, and surrounded by 14 of the highest mountain peaks on the continent. While staying at Kennicott Glacier Lodge, you know you’ll be one of only a few people to explore this spectacular part of Alaska.

Day 9 - 10

Anchorage - Juneau - Glacier Bay

Today you’ll take a scheduled flight from Anchorage to Juneau, then a small flight from Juneau to Gustavus. Upon arrival in Gustavus you’ll board the MV to start your whale watching excursion. Minky, Humpback and even Orca can be found in the Glacier Bay feeding grounds during the summer. They break the surface to spout air, but if you’re really lucky you’ll see them bound from the water in what is called a breach, a complete lift from the water. Keep your cameras ready! This is the equivalent of seeing a bear paw a salmon from the river or a lion take down a wildebeest in Africa. Think of this as more of a wildlife watching expedition than simply whale watching. Also watch out for harbour porpoises, stellar sea lions, harbour seals, sea otters, bald eagles and of course orca (killer) whales.

The next day you’ll experience the glacier cruise with lunch on board. Another wildlife extravaganza aboard the comfortable, high-speed catamaran. You’ll travel through dramatically different eco-systems, moving from the fully developed rainforest to the lichen encrusted rocks that exist on the edges of the massive tidewater glaciers. Halfway through the day you’ll arrive at the faces of the Margerie and Grand Pacific Glaciers. 245 feet above the ocean and 100 feet below; the ice that calves off the glaciers is an average of 200 years old. Back to the lodge for dinner.

2 nights Glacier Bay:

Glacier Bay Bear Track Inn - Full Board

Day 11

Glacier Bay - Juneau

A small flight today back to Juneau where you’ll be met and transferred to your hotel for the last night of your holiday.
