Day 1 & 2

Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe

Welcome to Zimbabwe!

Upon arrival at Victoria Falls Airport, you will be met and transferred to Ilala Lodge.

Resting on the southern banks of the Zambezi River at the western end of the eponymous falls, this popular tourist town is compact enough to walk around and makes an ideal base for travellers exploring the seventh wonder of the world.

About two thirds of the falls can be viewed from the Zimbabwean side and, while the falls are undoubtedly the star attraction, the area provides both adventure seekers and sightseers with plenty of opportunities to warrant a longer stay. The town itself offers some excellent accommodation and restaurant options as well as an eclectic variety of African curios and authentic art sold by friendly Zimbabwean locals who are wonderfully welcoming and eager to help you enjoy your stay.

The warmest of welcomes awaits you at Ilala Lodge Hotel. A gracefully distinguished ambiance. Attentive yet discreet service that always comes with a smile. The sublime surroundings of our boutique hotel will reawaken your senses while the power of the majestic Victoria Falls renews your spirit.

Feel at ease in our elegant and spacious rooms with African Teak furniture, soft, crisp linen – all en-suite facilities, bathroom with separate shower, air conditioning, overhead fan, satellite TV, hair dryer, tea & coffee making facilities, free WiFi and a safe. The view from your room looks across the lawns to the National Parks where elephant, warthog, impala or the occasional buffalo might be passing by or simply grazing on the lawn or in the tree line.

We have a tours desk in the hotel where you can book all your local activities.

Ilala Lodge also has a spa, where you can spoil yourself after that long safari!

Chobe Safari lodge, Botswana

Today, you transfer by road from Ilala Lodge, Zimbabwe to Chobe Safari Lodge, Botswana.

Chobe Safari Lodge is situated in Kasane on the banks of the Chobe River and shares a border with Chobe National Park. Right on the doorstep is the meeting of four African countries: Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe and Zambia. The lodge has been recently renovated; matching a magical lodge experience to the spectacular game viewing.

The Chobe River forms the northern boundary of the Chobe National Park, renowned for its reliable and diverse game viewing. Safaris are conducted both by boat and on land. This section of the park is best known for its elephant and hippo populations but the waters attract all manner of game including large herds of buffalo and the lions that prey on them.

In the heart of the Okavango Delta within the MATSEBE concession area, Pom Pom Camp is another jewel in Botswana’s crown!

The camp overlooks a scenic lagoon and is quietly nestled under grove shady trees. Here hippo grunt and frolic in front of our camp’s permanent lagoon that is surrounded by miles of reeds. In a clear water oasis “mokoro” offer you a wonderful means of viewing wildlife as you glide between palm fringed islands.

The camp has 9 large luxury safari tents, all with en suite showers and flush toilets; the bathrooms are enclosed for privacy, security and importantly offer you a truly unique bush adventure.

In the main thatched building you will find a cozy bar, lounge and table settings for imaginative meals prepared by our safari chefs
