We wind up at the beautiful temple of Vat Saen, originally built in 1718 and under the guidance of Ajahn Khamjan, one of the most revered abbots in Laos.

Our final visit of the day is the magnificent Vat Xiengthong, with its roofs sweeping low to the ground, representing the classical Luang Prabang style.
