Day 1

Arrive (Ecuador)- transfer from Quito Airport

 

Welcome to Ecuador!

Transfer to your hotel where you will stay during your night in Quito before heading on towards the Galapagos

Overnight in Quito : Illa Experience (Room Only)

Day 2

Quito to The Galapagos

Early start to catch your flight to The Galapagos Islands.

Upon arrival - met by Guide and transfer to Puerto Ayora to have lunch at the harbour.

After Lunch continue to your hotel for check-in.

In the afternoon a visit to the Charles Darwin Station where we can view and learn about a variety of Giant Tortoises and their habitat, plus that of the islands and current conservation projects.

Return to your hotel for dinner

Overnight in Santa Cruz : Sol y Mar B&B

Day 3

Sailing Navigation Tour - Bartolome or North Seymour or Plazas or Santa fe Island(s)

After breakfast your guide will meet with you in the hotel lobby to help transfer you to the dock for your morning and early afternoon excursion to one of the islands mentioned.  

 

The choice of island will be determined by the Captain with local demand and current favourable conditions taken into account.

Lunch shall be provided onboard.

Afternoon - return to port to freshen up, relax  and prepare for dinner at your hotel.

Details

Details of the islands one of which you shall visit today.

 

  • North Seymour Island - A wonderful place to go hiking, swimming and snorkling.  Primary local wildlife : Frigates, Boobies, gulls, hawks, green seas turtles and the famous Galapagos Sharks.

  • Bartolome Island - Arguably the most photogenic island in the archipelago.  Spectacular views across two bays plus the amazing lava and volcanic cone formations.

  • Sante Fe Island - Also known as Barrington Island.  A tiny island of just over 9 sq miles.  This Island formation dates back to over 4 million years ago. Local vegetation is mainly brush, Palo Santo trees and the prickly pear cactus Opuntia Echios.

  • Plazas - The formations of 2 Islands.  The beautiful channel waters contrast vibrantly with the white sand and black Lava coast.  An excellent spot for observing marine life.

Day 4

Santa Cruz Cerro Mesa - Garrapatero Beach

Today we start with a visit to Cerro Mesa, The Galapagos first Ecological Reserve. With an excellent variety of endemic plants plus up to 7 subspecies of Finch and Vermillion Flycatcher.

Expect wet weather as a persistent drizzle occurs over 8 months of the year, which helps keep the vegetation lush.

Venturing over to the west side of the island one can view the largest crater on Santa Cruz island.

After lunch, we head across to El Garrapatero.  A wide bay with multiple sandy beaches.  Excellent for swimming and relaxing whilst enjoying the vista.

Return to your hotel for dinner.

Day 5

Second Sailing Navigation Tour - Bartolome or North Seymour or Plazas or Santa fe Island(s) - visit an island not seen on Day 3 Tour

After breakfast your guide will meet with you in the hotel lobby to help transfer you to the dock for your morning and early afternoon excursion to one of the islands mentioned.  

 

The choice of the 3 remaining island locations not already visited will be determined by the Captain with local demand and current favourable conditions taken into account.

Lunch shall be provided onboard.

Afternoon - return to port to freshen up, relax  and prepare for dinner at your hotel.

Overnight in Santa Cruz : Sol y Mar B&B

Day 6

Santa Cruz - Isabela

Today you will change your Island base.

After breakfast you shall be taken to Tortuga Bay. Walk through a cactus trail onto Playa Brava beach, so called due to its strong currents.   A great spot to see marine Iguanas, marine birds and Pelicans.

 

We continue onward towards Playa Mansa which is a natural Lagoon frequented by Blue Footed Boobies and Pelicans.  A great place for swimming and taking in the sunshine.  then back to the port for lunch.

After lunch we take a public speed boat to Isabella Island (Approx 2-2.5hrs).  upon arrival you shall be escourted to you hotel for check-in.

Once checked-in, we will visit the Lake of the Flamingos.

Dinner will be provided at port, after which return to hotel

Day 7

Isabella  - Full Day Touring

Early start today, approximately 7:30am to be ready for the trip  to Sierra Negra Volcano.

You shall take a shuttle to the Galapagos National Park control centre to sign in, before continuing with the trek to both the Sierra Negra and the Chico Volcano.  A boxed lunch will be provided enroute.

Afternoon - return to hotel to freshen up.  Then transfer to the Concha Perla for snorkeling.

Then retire to your hotel for dinner.

Overnight in Isabela : Casa Marita B&B

Day 8

Isabela - Full Day Touring

 

Then on towards Guayaquil where you shall have an extensive city tour.

After breakfast transfer to the dock of Puerto Vallamil to explore Tintoreras Islet.  We shall take small boats for approximately 15 minutes to arrive at our destination.

Once arrived we take a hike through the Islet and prepare for a great morning snorkling. Varies species of fish to be found including; Starfish, Sea-urchins, perhaps even a Manta Ray, Shark or Sea lion.

Lunch back in town.

After lunch, we visit the Giant Tortoise Breeding Centre of Isabela.  In addition, we visit the "Wall of Tears" with a history of imprisonment in the past.  Also we shall take in Mirador Orchilla, Estero de Isabela and Playa del Amor.

Return to your hotel for dinner to enjoy your last evening in The Galapagos.

Day 9

Isabela - Santa Cruz - Baltra Airport - Quito

Early rise today - at 5:30am you shall be transfered to the port for your trip back to Santa Cruz which is due at approximately 8:30am arrival.

Upon arrival a guide will be waiting to transfer you to the Airport.

Enroute and time permitting we shall stop to view two sunken "holes" otherwise known as craters "los Gemelos"

 

Then take your flight transfer back to Quito and onto your hotel.

 

Check into your hotel and explore Quito on your very last night in Ecuador.

Day 10

Last day and transfer to airport

Departure - We recommend that you arrive at the airport 3 hours prior to your departure flight (or 2 hours if travelling business class). Your departure time will be given to you by your chauffeur guide. It is recommended that you check in online for your departure flight so that you can avoid long queues at the airport check in counters. On line check in is available for most airlines 24 hours before your flight. Your hotel will be able to help you with this if necessary. We wish you a pleasant journey back home or to your next destination.
